During debate over a colleague’s proposed cuts to try to lower that increase further, Councilman Gebhart argued for a steadier approach: plan conservatively and avoid setting the city up for another deficit.
He also spoke in favor of the Council’s broader push to support schools through non-budget levers, including looking at school employee sick-day policy as a longer-term cost lever.
